It's Tuesday, so you know what time it is! It's time for Team Member Tuesday! If you haven't met her already, meet Jackie! Jackie is our Catering Director and has been with the MU Dining team for over 10 years. She just celebrated her 10-year anniversary earlier this year at our Team Member Appreciation event! Jackie's favorite food is anything Mexican. Whether it be tacos or quesadillas, Jackie loves it all. Her favorite thing about working here is the people. And if you've had the chance to meet Jackie, you've probably gotten the Jackie smile. Outside of work, Jackie enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors. It's hard to put into words what Jackie means to our team. On top of ensuring catering events look beautiful and run smoothly, she helps to set up events all across campus, travels to other campuses to assist with catering, and she does it all. Last week, our Chefs Art, Nicola, and Morgan had the opportunity to travel to The Vegetable Basket Farm in Waynesburg, Ohio. We are proud to announce that we will be partnering with them as a Forged Partner and will be purchasing potatoes and several types of squashes from them. Yesterday evening, we were proud to host the Northwest Pennsylvania Innovation Beehive Network reception. The Beehive Network is made up of the Blasco Library, Edinboro University, Penn State Behrend, Gannon University, and Mercyhurst University. Our team supported one of our own, 501 Grille Supervisor Tony Gressley. Tony has served as Entertainment Director for the NWPA Pride Alliance for the past 12 years. He oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of entertainment for the organization’s signature events. On Friday, some of our supervisors took the ServSafe Manager Certification course. ServSafe certifications expire after a certain number of years, and some of our supervisors are taking the class to recertify, while others are taking it for the first time! On Thursday, we hosted our annual ServSafe Food Handler Course. Our team members take a class proctored by our Director of 501, Mike, and Sous Chef at 501, Morgan.
